At Mr Pickles’ Yorkshire Food Emporium we only stock produce from Yorkshire and we source food and drink from Sheffield wherever possible. This means that our produce is as local as you can get and we work closely with a lot of Sheffield food business so we can offer our customers a great range of the city’s favourite food and drink.
Here are just ten of our most popular Sheffield food producers.
Firs Farm: Based on Ringinglow Road in Sheffield, Firs Farm is located just three miles from the shop and they supply us with all our high welfare beef and lamb. We buy in the whole of the cow and sheep so we can butcher it down to all the different cuts, many of which you’ll only see in specialist butchers’ shops such as pope’s eye steak and picanha.
Our Cow Molly: Enjoying a free range lifestyle in Bradfield, the cows at Our Cow Molly produce milk that tastes incredible and is popular across the city. As well as their super fresh milk, we also stock their delicious ice cream and butter.
Sheffield Honey: With hives dotted around the city and in the peaks, Sheffield Honey has a unique flavour that is a world away from anything that the supermarkets stock. Look out for the slabs of cut comb too – we especially like them melted onto hot toast.
Frazer’s Coffee Roasters: Committed to producing quality, fresh and great tasting coffee, Frazer uses his own handmade coffee roaster. He finds it gives him complete control over the roasting process and allows him to produce coffee which is of a consistently high quality. We stock his full range which is available as beans or ground, as well as any limited editions he releases.
Charlie’s Country Garden and Mr Pickles’: We’ve stocked Charlie’s products since we first opened our doors in May 2014 and everything is always high quality, thanks to the time and care Charlie puts into sourcing ingredients and devising recipes. This is why Charlie was our first choice when we were looking for someone to create our Mr Pickles’ range. With pickles, chutneys and a Yorkshire Dressing made to our very own recipe, the range is really popular with our customers.
We Luv Brownies: This small baking business prides itself on using quality ingredients including 70% Belgian chocolate, English butter and free range eggs. We stock the core range including the ever popular salted caramel and the double chocolate.
Lost Industry Brewing: Lost Industry started brewing in November 2015 with one simple plan; to brew beer without any inhibitions. Since then we’ve seen a range of beer styles and flavour combinations hit our shelves and we’re always looking forward to seeing what the Lost Industry team come up with next.
The Depot Bakery: Because the Depot team bakes daily, we can always offer our customers freshly baked bread. We stock everyday loaves including a white tin loaf and a granary alongside a rye bread, a sourdough and their super tasty mini ciabatta flatbreads. Pop into our store to try their croissants, scones and brioche buns too.
Samuel Staniforth Ltd: Although not a food producer, given Sheffield’s steel industry, we had to include a knife manufacturer. Having used Samuel Staniforth’s knives on the butcher’s counter for a few years now, we’ve recently started stocking their chef knife sets. They make great gifts – especially for Sheffield food lovers.
Locksley Distilling Co Ltd: Sir Robin of Locksley is one of our best sellers and with notes of juniper, elderflower, dandelion and grapefruit, we can see why. This is a true sipping gin that can be enjoyed straight or in a martini but we also find it incredibly refreshing in a gin and tonic – just add a pink grapefruit garnish to bring out the citrus flavours.
